Jayne Mansfield poses on a bar stool

Mansfield’s big break came on the Broadway stage where she starred in the smash hit “Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?”. The success of the play landed her a seven-year contract with 20th Century-Fox and a starring role in “The Girl Can’t Help It”.

Tragedy cut her life short. In the early hours of June 29, 1967, Mansfield, accompanied by her boyfriend, Sam Brody and their 20-year-old driver, were all killed when their car ploughed into the back of a large truck.
